Volcano

It seems that I take fewer pictures of Jace (or anyone in my family) since I have started my business. Perhaps it is because my camera is so darn big or maybe because I dread sorting through and editing all the pictures (I always overshoot!). But whatever the reason, I have set a mental goal to take my camera out more often and take everyday pictures of my family just for documentation purposes. After all, these everyday moments are the ones that are most important to capture.

So here are a few of my Jace today. I have been wanting to make a volcano with him for a while, and finally got around to it today. We made one about 2 years ago, but he was too young to really appreciate it. It was a struggle for him to even get paint on the paintbrush! But not today. He LOVED it! First he was just so engrossed with the paints- mixing up all the colors and painting and jabbing the soft volcano (I was too lazy to bake the claydough). After about 15 minutes he started to get bored (or just tired of me saying "Jace, show me your hands...No, lift them up a little higher...now look at the camera...one more time..."). So out came the magical solution of baking soda and vinegar. I don't think I have ever seen Jace so captivated! He was amazed by those fizzy bubbles! Every time we would pour more in he would say "3, 2, 1, Blastoff!" It was hilarious! We must have gone through half a box of baking soda! And I am sure it would have been more had I not run out of vinegar! I think I had as much fun doing this today with Jace as I did for my 5th grade science project! Hope you enjoy these!
