Apples & Umbrellas...

They may not go together like peas and carrots, but they sure make for cute photo props!

Saturday was the first 'official' fall session, but let me tell you, it sure didn't feel like fall! After a cool week last week, I emailed the mom of these two girls to remind her to bring sweaters for her girls as our session was at 9:30am. As soon as I stepped out of my car up on Carter Mountain Saturday morning, I felt foolish. It was hot and humid! I was so glad mom brought sundresses!

These girls were so much fun! And I think four-year-olds are becoming one of my favorite ages to photograph- I just love how expressive they are! They can go from having a little attitude to rolling in laughter in a matter of seconds! Little Miss M. did exactly that- she was looking at me trying so hard not to smile, but as soon as daddy threatened to unleash the tickle monster on her, she burst into laughter! I love this shot of her- I can just hear her sweet giggle when I look at it!

After the session I got an email from mom who was a little concerned that her girls hadn't cooperated well enough- I often get comments or emails about this after sessions, of parents wondering 'how on earth did she get anything?' But one of the things I love most about my job is capturing kids being 'them'- attitudes, smiles and everything in between! I hope more than anything that when parents look at the images I create of their children, they smile and think 'that is SO...' Because more than the perfect smiles, that is what we want to remember. So, mom, don't worry! I promise we got lots of great shots- you all did awesome!

BTW, had to include that last shot of the famous Carter Mountain worm- I know Miss M. will be excited to see it!

Enjoy the sneak peek!

These are spectacular!!! Wow, what color! And where did that parasol come from? Did you bring it or did they bring it. I've been looking for one of those!
Anyway, incredible job, Mandy! These are all fantastic! Really, truly stunning!
