After a nice holiday break, it felt so incredible to have an official session last week!
I felt totally renewed and reminded of how much I love my job- there is nothing more exhilarating than spending an hour interacting with a spunky nearly 5 year old and then anxiously coming home to see the images I caught. Isn't miss I. a beauty?!
However, I will be the first to admit that this session was C.O.L.D.!! Low 40s and wind are not a good combination! I grew up in the Rocky Mountains so I should be used to cold weather, but living here in moderate Virginia these past few years has made me a true baby when it comes to cold- thank heavens for my heated car to warm my frozen hands up afterwards! For Miss I., though, the cold didn't seem to phase her! Having a 4 year old myself, I can imagine it was a little frustrating for mom when miss I. argued that she didn't need her jacket or shoes, but I just had to laugh- one of the many plights of motherhood- trying to keep our kids jackets and shoes on (and I am sure it never ends!) Luckily Miss I. did finally concede with the promise of more ice skating on a nearby patch of icy snow when we were done. And if ever there is an Olympic sport in ice skating-on-patches-of-icy-snow-with-shoes-on, this girl has a bright future ahead of her!
I am so happy with this session- I got so many great expressions from her! Thanks so much for braving the cold with me, Miss I. and mom! I hope you enjoy your sneak peek!

oh wow you did a awesome job. These are all really beautiful and even though its cold she looks great and seems really happy and playful!
I was so happy to see the beautiful pictures of Miss I. That would be my beautiful neice, of whom I am very proud!! You did a fabulous job and I'm sure she gave you a run for your money! Can't wait to see the rest!
I can't believe I didn't comment on these yet. I totally thought I had. Anyway, these are stunning and she'd just a gorgeous girl! I think you did an amazing job, especially considering how cold it was. I always mess up in lousy weather and regardless of the situation, you never fail to create stunning images!
